I am a digital/public historian specializing in the interpretation of cultural landscapes and sites of memory associated with Southern, African American, and Atlantic World history. My current research project, a collaboration with visualization specialist Bill Ferster, involves mapping the correspondence of Thomas Jefferson and William Short across time and space to reveal patterns of change and persistence, convergence and divergence. Our digital project, "Notes on the Future of Virginia," has been accepted for presentation at the 2012 annual meeting of the American Historical Association meeting in Chicago.
